The Texans fired Gary Kubiak, 52, after eight seasons as their head coach following a Week 14 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team’s 11th loss in a row. Well today the Detroit Lions brought him in for an interview.
Kubiak posted a 61-64 record while at Houston and was the fourth-longest tenured coach in the league, behind Bill Belichick, Marvin Lewis and Tom Coughlin at the time of his firing. He has a career 2-2 mark in the postseason.
Kubiak played his entire nine-year NFL career for the Broncos as a backup to Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway.
He seems to fit the profile the Lions have set up for their new head coach. He’s an offensive-minded coach with a history of working with quarterbacks and has head coaching experience.Do you follow the NFL Draft?
