Tomorrow the team is supposed to host Derek Carr as well, but the Jaguars guy is Blake Bortles.
This is great news if you are a Jaguars fan, but the better news could have came from an article the other day posted by Houston Chronicle writer John McClain that said he feels the Texans will draft Johnny Manziel with the first pick in the draft. Now you might be thinking to yourself, why does that matter? Well let me explain…
Yesterday I spoke with a high ranking official for the Jacksonville Jaguars who told me the Jaguars have Blake Bortles as their highest rated quarterback, and if he is off the board, they would probably go in a different direction with the 3rd pick. The Jaguars desperately need a quarterback of the future, but they feel Chad Henne can get the job done if their guy is not there. They are not going to force a pick because they have a need, they would rather draft someone that can come in and start right now rather than gambling. They like Bortles and if he is there they will select him, if he is not there, do not be surprised to see them go Best Player Available.
