Goodell states Richard Sherman needs to display better behavior; but failed to say that to Riley Cooper

Was Roger Goodell fair?  I want to know your opinion, because he came out with a statement today about Richard Sherman’s comments, which were not bad.  They were competitive, and I feel deep down inside that Goodell should have not said anything.  It is not his problem, the guy is making tons of money off of Richard Sherman and his antics. A matter of fact, he is a top 10 selling jersey seller and he has been all over every news station for calling Michael Crabtree “mediocre” which is honestly a true statement.  Goodell made this statement on a television morning show:

“It’s an emotional game, and you see a young man who comes off the field and he’s pumped up, and there’s so much excitement in the stadium, but no, I’m not cheering for that because he’s a great young man, he’s extremely well spoken, does great things off the field, obviously a great player on the field. I want him to present himself in the best possible way, and make sure that he’s reflecting on himself and his family in a positive way. He took away a little bit from the team. That was what he said yesterday. I thought that was a very interesting comment and I think it’s fair,” Goodell said.

I find it ironic that Roger Goodell  said Richard Sherman was wrong for what he said, but failed to do so when Riley Cooper blatantly used the “N” word in a video that went viral on YouTube.

Goodell went on  “Mike & Mike in the Morning” and stated that Cooper’s comments were “obviously wrong, insensitive and unacceptable” and then added “He’s accepted responsibility for it, he has spoken to his team, he has been disciplined by the club, and will go through some training with the club to understand.

What bothers me is that Sherman stated his apology to his team, but is still getting criticism from the Commissioner. Listen Commish, you need to start wearing boxer shorts, because right now, you are sporting panties.  I guess you cannot trash talk anymore in the NFL either, when a  player trashes you all year on twitter and social media.  No one harassed Riley Cooper all year, if anything he was harassed for a few hours.  I think the NFL is getting weak, what do you think?
