Today’s Get to know series will focus on Aaron Roane a mean and aggressive linebacker from Richmond, and we feel at NFL Draft Diamonds, you will want to know all about him.

Grade You Started Football: Started playing football in 3rd grade

High School: West Point High School

Position/Positions: Running back/ linebacker

College: University of Richmond

Position/Positions: Outside linebacker/ inside linebacker

Jersey Number: #24

Football Mentor/Inspiration: Mentors/inspiration would be my mom and brother. My mom because I grew up watching her do her best to raise my brother and I. We struggled and didn’t have everything we wanted but she made sure we had everything we needed, and I look to my brother as my mentor because of the competitiveness he instilled in me. Everything was always a competition to see who could win or do it better and that helped me compete at a high level, even today..

Favorite Slogan: We all we got

Proudest Football Moment/Memory: I have two. The first was when I broke my high school rushing record and then becoming the leading rusher in school history with 5,257 yards. Second was my sophomore year at Richmond when we won the CAA conference championship. That was the first ring I ever won

Funniest Football Memory: In high school, I went out for a pass from the back field and when I turned around the lights were in my eyes so the ball hit me right on top of my head.. Everyone in the stands laughed. What made it worse was my team was the home team, and the home crowd still laughed

Favorite Food: Honey ham

Football Philosophy: Never be afraid to be great

Game Superstitions: I have a lot but here’s a few, I have to listen to the same songs in the same order, I have to get dressed the same way, and when I stretch me and my friend #55 Justin Williamson have to make eye contact

Career Goals: I conquered one career goal by being named a team captain. Another would be that I want to finish my senior season as an All-American and a top LB

Favorite Down Time: Favorite thing I do with my down time happens to be the most important thing and that’s spending time with my two year old son. I have a little more responsibility than my teammates and I try to use all of my free time with my son.

What Would You Want College Football Fans To Know About You: I want fans to know that I’m a very competitive guy that thrives off of competition and I don’t hesitate to outwork anyone.
