Former Niners Owner cried like a baby after saying farewell to Candlestick
In 2014 the San Francisco 49ers will unveil Levi’s Stadium, their new, modern home. They extinguished the flame at Candlestick one last time Saturday during the Legends of Candlestick game.
And they did it in impressive fashion: Joe Montana hit owner Eddie DeBartolo for a touchdown to give the 49ers team a 45-40 victory over the All-Stars team. DeBartolo talked about the game with Sirius XM NFL Radio and was sad after the game.
@SiriusXMNFL: Eddie DeBartolo: I cried like a baby when I got back to my hotel room. It was very special being carried off the field. #SXMNFL #49ers
DeBartolo will remember this day forever, and so should the fans.
