Former Bears special team ace Brendan Ayanbadejo admitted players smoked “Marijuana” before the big game
Brendan Ayanbadejo definitely does not hold back from talking about topics that are pretty edgy topics. We all know his stance on gay and lesbian marriages, and now he spoke about “marijuana” use in the NFL.
Ayanbadejo played in the 2006 Super Bowl for the Bears and the 2012 Super Bowl for the Ravens, but did not disclose which Super Bowl he witnessed players smoking marijuana, but did admit that several of them did.
From the Baltimore Sun: I’m not going to say which Super Bowl it was but I just remember getting off the elevator one night — it was early on in the week, just to start the week off — and all of the sudden I just got hit over the head with fumes of marijuana on the entire floor of the hotel that the team was staying on,” Ayanbadejo said. “I could just imagine there were a few young guys just toking it up in more than one room. I was like, ‘Man this is the week of the Super Bowl and you’re just going in?’
It is a pretty interesting comment, but you have to think many of them will try their hand. Many players are dealing with the media hype, and the publicity. They probably turn to Mary Jane to calm them down.
