I actually had a lot of teams recruiting me but when they notice that i was 5’11.5 they backed off and lost interest.

How did you choose your school?

It was a good situation to come in and play. I liked the coaching staff. It felt like home away from home. My hometown friend Anthony Levine of the Baltimore Ravens helped on my decision by challenging me by saying “you have to be a dog go to my school”

samquanAt your position, what separates you from others?

I have great awareness making me able to identify blocks and react faster. I also play with great leverage and is good at using my hands to disengage from blocks thus allowing me to make more plays.

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

I look at the offensive lineman technique, and if he’s consistent with it. I observe tendencies during run and pass plays such as; if he’s in a three point stance in run and two point in pass. Look to see how good their feet and hands are.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

Kadeem Edwards

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

Aaron Donald. He’s an undersized guy like myself and he uses his other attributes to make up for his size like myself.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

The biggest obstacle by far i had to overcome is me being undersized. I overcame it by just using my disadvantage as a advantage. I just play with low center of gravity and great leverage to defeat taller opponents making me play bigger than I appear on paper.

Listen to Notorious B.I.G, visualize myself in the game making plays, and just relaxing my mind.

The obvious is that I’m undersized, but I have always used it to my advantage. It keeps me low at all times. I’m quicker & just as strong or stronger as the competition.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

If I could sell myself, I would tell him that in me, he would be getting a versatile defensive tackle/nose tackle who would come into the organization with a big chip on his shoulder ready to work and earn everything as I’ve had to do my whole life and have fun doing it.

Lawrence Taylor and the New York Giants

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

My grandfather, my uncle, Robert Greene
