Dallas Cowboys need to make Henry Melton their main target in free agency

The Dallas Cowboys are over the salary cap by 20 plus million dollars, and while they will be able to get that number down by restructuring contracts, they are going to lose Jason Hatcher to free agency.  Hatcher is going to get a pretty decent pay day after having an amazing season.  Well the Cowboys are going to need to fill that void and with someone that can play, and I think I found their guy.

Henry Melton, the Chicago Bears defensive tackle who is coming off of a knee injury would be a perfect fit for the Cowboys.  Melton will not demand large quantities of money because of his recent arrest and his injury that knocked him out the entire season.

Henry Melton is still young despite coming off a torn ACL and they could really use him to reinvigorate the lifeless defensive tackle position.  This would allow the Cowboys to focus on safety in the first round with their draft pick.  It makes too much sense, and I could see it becoming a reality.

Another key reason Melton would probably take a pay cut to come to Dallas is Rod Marinelli. From 2010-12, Marinelli served as coordinator for the Chicago Bears after his stint as the head coach of the Detroit Lions. He had incredibly successful defenses. They forced a ton of turnovers (59 fumbles, 65 interceptions), scored 13 touchdowns and, most importantly, allowed the fourth-fewest points (904).

In 2012, the Bears had four Pro Bowl players in cornerbacks Tim Jennings and Charles Tillman, defensive end Julius Peppers and defensive tackle Henry Melton. They had a league-high 44 takeaways and finished in the top 10 in rush defense, pass defense and points allowed.
