Buffalo fielding offers for Pro Bowl Safety Jairus Byrd

Today Tim Graham of the Buffalo News reported that he felt the Bills and Safety Jairus Byrd had some bad blood, after Doug Whaley’s comments about the exemption given to the Bills from the league.

“An extra roster spot is always a good thing,” Whaley told Associated Press reporter John Wawrow, who asked if Byrd could be exempted from the roster for opening day.

I have to agree with the comments, because Byrd is holding out to try to become the highest paid safety.  If Buffalo does trade Byrd they could get a pretty penny. Well it doesn’t seem like it is that far off. Today on Thursday Night Countdown, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported the Bills have had “dialogue” with other teams about trading FS Jairus Byrd. Mortensen didn’t say that a trade was imminent but did say they are entertaining offers.
