Bucs TE Tim Wright Ready for Fantasy Debut vs Falcons

Week 7 provides some very intriguing match ups with the return of Peyton Manning to Indianapolis and as well as lackluster Monday Night Football meeting between the 0-5 Giants  and 1-4 Vikings, who will starting Josh Freeman for his first game since he was signed. However, the following fantasy match ups are ones that I found could most benefit fantasy owners looking to make an impact this week.

Tim Wright, TE Buccaneers vs Atlanta —

Atlanta has given up touchdowns in 4 out of 5 games to opposing tight ends, including two 1 yard scores to Matt Mulligan and Dion Sims. Enter another obscure, but productive tight end Tim Wright. Wright has been Glennon’s favorite target in the two weeks the 2013 third round pick has started for the Bucs. Wright made 7 catches on 9 targets for 91 yards last week versus Philadelphia, and was the Buccaneers’ leading receiver against Arizona where he made 4 catches on 5 targets for 49 yards. With Atlanta’s 11 sacks (11TH worst) through week 6, I would expect Glennon to have plenty of time in the pocket to find Wright, who is typically left in single coverage with most secondary putting a main focus on Vincent Jackson. I would take a chance on Wright to start at tight end if you have questions at the tight end position, or are simply looking to take advantage of a very under-the-radar match up.

TY Hilton vs Broncos Secondary —

Denver has given up the most pass completions over 20 yards (35) and 4 passes over 40 yards. They have given up 11 TD’s which is tied for 8th worst, including an 82 yard touchdown, which is only 1 yard less than the longest touchdown given up all year. TY is definitely Andrew Luck’s favorite deep target, and is averaging 15.4 yards per catch, which is ranked 10th among receivers with at least 25 receptions. Denver has one of the better run defenses in the league, which alludes to another potential shootout in a game involving the Denver Broncos.

Kansas City D/ST v. Houston O —

Houston is considering starting Case Keenum, or TJ Yate versus Kansas City, who own the league’s best turnover margin. Regardless of who starts for the Texans, this would be the second time this year the Chiefs face a team with the worst turnover margin, while having the best turnover margin. The Chiefs have a league best, 30 sacks on the year, whereas the Texans Offensive line has allowed 17, which is tied for 9th worst. Combine that with Houston’s Quarterback tendency of throwing a pick 6 every game this season and one can deduce a productive day for the Chiefs defense.

Nick Foles v. Dallas Secondary –

Dallas is tied with the Jaguars and Giants for giving up the most passing touchdowns in the league at 14. Of those three teams, Dallas has given up the most passes over 20 yards (23), 40 yards (4), and total yards per game (308.2). Nick Foles is coming off a very good passing performance where he threw TD passes of 47 and 36 yards against a Buccaneers team that had their respectable season averages in pass defense heavily skewed. With the absence of several key Dallas defenders, most notably DeMarcus Ware, Foles should have plenty of time to let those deep routes develop.

New Orleans and Oakland are on BYE weeks this week.
