Aaron Rodgers has a fractured collar bone, could miss quite a bit of time

This is the worst news you could wake up too as a Green Bay Packers fan. Well ESPN’s Ed Werder is hearing that the injury is not good for the Packers.  Quarterback Aaron Rodgers landed on his left shoulder when he was sacked by Bears defensive end Shea McClellin on the game’s opening series.

“It doesn’t look good,” A Packers source told ESPN’s Ed Werder on Tuesday. “This is the one we couldn’t afford to lose.”

If the Packers do lose Rodgers for an extended period of time, the Packers are going to have to go out and sign someone ASAP.  I don’t believe that Seneca Wallace is the answer for the Packers, unless they run the ball 40 times a game.

I would not be surprised to see the Packers put in a claim for Matt Flynn who hit the waiver wire last yesterday after being cut by the Buffalo Bills.

***UPDATE***

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) could be sidelined about three weeks. Initial tests showed a small fracture in Rodgers’ collarbone. Per Schefter, the Packers don’t want to make any official determination until their quarterback undergoes even more testing Tuesday.
