26 year old Rashard Mendenhall hangs up his cleats

Rashard Mendenhall in only 26 years old and only played six seasons in the NFL, where he rushed for 4,236 yards and scored 39 total touchdowns.

Well today, the young man turned in his cleats.

Mendenhall, drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the 2008 draft, struggled with turf toe for much of last season. When healthy, he scored five touchdowns in his final eight games with the Cardinals.

Mendenhall is better known for his time with the Steelers, but tore his ACL two years ago. He had his best season in 2010 when he had 1,273 yards and 13 touchdowns in Pittsburgh.
