What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

Starting at an early age I have always gravitated toward playing sports. Compared to kids my age I had a strong natural ability to run and catch balls. I also had a long attention span and therefore would spend hours practicing with my dad and was all in on games. As I got older I became a real fan of the game and that ignited a passion that is still going strong.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

-I had a 48 yard touchdown against the #6 in the country Wisconsin Badgers. At that point in the season the Badgers had not given up a touchdown in the first half of any game. I’ll never forget the run after the catch was felt like a bolt of lightning had run through me as I sprinted to the end zone. Many feel that play ignited our team which ultimately led to winning on a last second field goal. The fans rushing
the field was an incredible moment.
-Playing in the Redbox Bowl against Cal was another one of my favorite moments in my football life. Walking off the field as the leading receiver was a special moment and one that I am very proud of.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I am looking to continue to improve. Continue to improve my craft as a WR. I am so inspired by the many great football players that have paved the way for the following generations. I have honed this craft over the years and as a football player I want to achieve success, be a good teammate, and become the very best version of a football player that I can be.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

I would say former wide receiver for the New England Patriots Julian Edelman.  I’m inspired by his path to the NFL and his relentless work ethic.
I also feel we have similar styles of play and therefore could spend hours exchanging notes.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My dad because of the strong relationshp we have always had. He inspires me by instilling confidence in me and always believing in me.
I have learned life lessons from him such as not being afraid of taking on challenges and the importance of a relentless work ethic.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

I like the spread that uses motions, bunches, and stacks to create 1 on 1 matchups.

What should we know about Donny Navarro III the person?

You should know that I am detail oriented, resilient, passionate, consistent, and a good locker room guy.

What stands out about your film the most?

-Accurate routes and ability to create separation.
-Fast in and out of breaks.
-Versatility to play inside and outside.
-Ability to read and react to coverages.
-Ability to run intermediary and deep routes.(Fluidity in routes that involve multiple cuts.)

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I have always had the mindset that if you’re not failing you’re not trying. I see challenges as an opportunity to grow. I also think being proactive is a very effective way to head off challenges. In football that involved countless hours of film review.

What would a team get in a player like you?

An experienced player with a relentless work ethic. A player that understands the importance of being prepared and having a team first approach. An experienced player with strong leadership qualities. Good teammate and good person on and off the field. Tough, gritty, quick learner, and detailed oriented.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love the challenges that are a part of the relentless pursuit of excellence in football. Team camaraderie is also important to me. Football is extremely competitive. I love to compete. I love the preparation leading up to the season.
