Player Summary:

5th year Redshirt Junior who started in 11 of 30 games including 11 of 13 in 2022. Played in a defense base of 4-2-5, but uses multiple fronts. Has lined up in multiple positions, including Nose Tackle, 5 tech, 3 tech, and Mike and OLB in a 3 down front. The athlete has adequate height, arm length, and marginal weight with an athletic build displaying good short-range quickness with adequate speed and balance. DE displays good UOH on run and pass plays, keeping hands tight and quickly striking the OL in the chest and extending arms to gain separation. He is consistently competitive, engaging with larger OL and quicker WR in space. At the LB position, he has solid coverage capabilities, dropping in zone after getting his hands on the WR. FBI is high as he reads the offense well, as MLB, OLB, and as DE. As a DL, he plays with marginal strength at the POA, oftentimes finding it difficult to destroy blocks. He displays adequate up field burst, triggering the ball in the first step in his pass rush, but is marginal in running the hoop to put pressure on the QB, usually getting redirected or pushed off his path. He has a solid motor trying to run plays down from behind as well as rallying to the ball. He continues to show up in the film as someone who has a solid motor and is a high-effort guy.

Scheme Fit:

OLB in 3-4, MLB in 4-3

Power Statement:

Ceaser III is a high-effort defensive player with the ability to move around the defense, which can be valuable as he can stay on the field for multiple downs. A little undersized as a DE, but he can play in space. Has adequate ball skills, and sets the edge on any run plays coming his way. Has a high FBI, plays multiple positions, and reads an offense really well.
