XFL Top Performers from Week One
Hello Justin Berendzen from Draft Diamonds (@jrberendzen on Twitter) with my top performers from XFL Week one.
Vegas Vipers at Arlington Renegades
Vegas Vipers WRs Cinque Sweeting and Jeff Badet-
These two wide receivers were making plays Saturday. Sweeting caught 3 passes for 64 yards and a touchdown showed a little speed too Sweeting will be one to watch going forward. And Badet was back at it in the XFL from the last time he was there against the team he was on last time the XFL existed catching 6 passes for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns Badet is a playmaker.
Vegas Vipers DL LaRon Stokes-
Stokes was very disruptive on the line and came away with 1.5 sacks and 3.5 TFLs in a game where defensive lines dominated.
Arlington Renegades TE Sal Cannella-
Sal is a big time playmaker at TE and caught 7 passes for 70 yards and has the possibility of being the best TE in the XFL.
Arlington Renegades LB Colin Schooler-
Schooler had 1 sack and 1 TFL and was making plays on defense for the Renegades.
Orlando Guardians at Houston Roughnecks
Orlando Guardians WR Andrew Jamiel-
Jamiel was making big time catches caught 3 passes for 80 yards and 1 touchdown he might be able to make lots of plays if the QB is able to get him the ball going forward. Jamiel was an XFL Top Performer for Week 1.
Orlando Guardians DE Jacoby Jones-
Jones had 2 sacks and 2 TFLs and was a force on the Guardians defense.
Houston Roughnecks WR Deontay Burnett-
Burnett had 8 catches for 90 yards and 1 touchdown and destroyed the Guardians secondary with his ability.
Houston Roughnecks DL Trent Harris-
Harris had 4 sacks and 4 TFLs and was dominating the Guardians offensive line with his pass rush ability.
Saint Louis Battlehawks at San Antonio Brahmas
Saint Louis Battlehawks WR Austin Proehl-
Austin was clutch late in the game for the Battlehawks and had 4 catches for 49 yards and a touchdown against San Antonio.
Saint Louis Battlehawks DB Elijah Hamilton-
Hamilton made some good plays in the game early racking up two TFLs which kept the game close enough for the Battlehawks.
San Antonio Brahmas QB Jack Coan-
Coan showed he could be a threat at QB and was able to make throws while getting hit Coan had 207 passing yards and 1 touchdown pass.
San Antonio Brahmas DL Mike Scott-
Scott had an aggressive pass rush and sacked the QB 2 times in the game and showed he can be dominant.
Seattle Sea Dragons at DC Defenders
Seattle Sea Dragons WR Jachour Pearson-
Pearson’s hands were like velcro to the football he caught 12 passes for 95 yards.
DC Defenders DB Michael Joseph-
Joseph the DB from Dubuque was out there making plays had 2 interceptions including a pick 6.
