Falcons owner takes a jab at Marcus Mariota while pumping up Desmond Ridder
Desmond Ridder started four games last year and held his own, and it sounds like the Falcons owner Arthur Blank is pretty happy with his rookie quarterback.
While Marcus Mariota is still under contract, he was benched last year and it is likely the team moves on from him. If you remember the Falcons star quarterback Marcus Mariota left the team facility after Ridder was named the starter.
Well, Arthur Blank took a shot at Mariota when talking about his new quarterback.
I know he only played four games but the trend line during those four games was all good. He didn’t throw the ball to the other team which is a huge factor in winning games. He’s not color blind, so I feel good about where we are and I think our fans should feel that way, honestly.— Arthur Blank
Mariota threw nine interceptions in 13 games, while Ridder didn’t throw one pick in four games.
