What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

What made me start playing football was my two older brothers. When I was around 3-5 yrs old I use to go to their practices and I just loved it so much and stuck around it.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

As a football player I just wanna make a 53 man roster in the NFL and be a great special teams guy. I want to work my way up to get a spot on a great defense (Playing Nickel Back).

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Probably Kenny Moore because we have a similar style of play. We’re both considered “Small” but we both okay big. The reason I would wanna hang out with him is because he’s been in the NFL for 5 years now and I know he has a lot of knowledge he can share with me and different techniques to use as a smaller nickel/corner back.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

1 of my favorite moments from football is probably getting the chance to play alongside my little brother (Donte Kent) it was such a joy being on the field at the same time and we feed off each other’s energy and it’s something I would never regret.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My mom inspires me the most because she is such a fighter and never gives up on anything. She had breast cancer and she overcame it even through all the adversity that was against her. She’s special to me and she makes me grind harder and harder everyday.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

4-2-5 is my favorite because it has 5 DBs on the field and you can show a lot of different looks and can confuse the QB.

What should we know about Ronald Kent Jr the person?

That I’m an extrovert. I love getting to know people and I love playing football. Without football I don’t know where I would be at. I love giving out knowledge and love gaining knowledge from others.

What stands out about your film the most?

When watching my film the things that standout is I play much bigger than I look. It shows my speed and how physical I play. My teammates call me the “Passion Leader” and it shows on film.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

In life I ask for guidance from God and my mom and dad. I trust that they would lead me into the right direction no matter the circumstance. When facing a challenge on the field I just persevere through it. Everything in life happens for a reason and some stuff might not go your way so you have to put your head down and keep going. A quote I go by is “Don’t let yesterday take up too much of tomorrow” and that’s just how I live.

What would a team get in a player like you?

They would be getting a hard working young man that wouldn’t take anything for granted.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love the connections it brings between players and coaches and I love winning.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

The most underrated guy from my team has to be Trey Jones (Safety) he’s going into his junior season and he is such a dawg. His work ethic and leadership is going to lead him into being a greater player. He won’t be underrated for long.
