Pittman’s Pocket: HBCU Schools Continue to Read our Work!

On this week of PIttman's Pocket, Brian Pittman breaks down five incoming freshman we need to keep an eye!

Players that were highlighted by NFLDRAFTDIAMONDS Pittman’s Pocket did in fact receive high interest from HBCUs, which ultimately became factors in which some of the student-athletes from mainly Junior Colleges signed most recently to some prestigious HBCU programs.

Cayden Betts– A Running Back from Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia, Mississippi, should be a nice addition to the Mississippi Valley State Devils and new Head coach Kenny Wade. Betts is a big back that can cruise up a good day, in the backfield, with his yards per carry in JUCO at a minimum of 6.0 a carry.

BJ Washington– The 6’0 190 Defensive back from Senatobia, Mississippi has made a huge addition to newly Jackson State Head Coach T.C. Taylor & Coach Otis aka OT. Washington will add to JSU secondary by his experience and success at the JUCO level. Born and raised in Mississippi the move was easy, once the offer was made, by the 2 times SWAC champions. JSU is on the move with already signing NFLDRAFTDIAMONDS HBCU Premiere Pittman’s Pocket addition of JSU Quarterback & First T.C. Taylor era signing Phillip Short from Holmes CC, who is already on the Jackson State Campus this spring competing for the starter position.

Access Scott– is one of those kids you cannot pass up. The 6’3 230 pass rusher was a force coming into his first year as a full-time starter at Georgia Military with 11 sacks being put up for the Sophomore Campaign. Finally, Coach Oliver at North Carolina Central decided to intrigue Scott with the Black National Champions offering NJCAA top 5 sack leader an offer, which Access turned into a commitment this past weekend, at the NCCU celebration National Championship Parade. You could not ask for more. The Eagles added a winner & a competitive young man. He will start on day 1.
