What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I grew up watching my big brother and I fell in love with it and started playing flag football at 6 and tackle football at 8.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Winning the SoCon championship at Samford and my family seeing me play at Georgia and when I was at Michigan State against Western Michigan, I’m from California so it was hard for them to see me play.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

My goal is to become a starter in the NFL and have a positive impact on my teammates and coaches.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Walter Payton, he’s one of the main reasons I started playing football and my dad would put his film on and I would watch it and want to be a running back but I would love to see what he has to say.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My whole family, from the top down my whole family inspires me and my mom and sister work in health care and my dad was a social worker and a professor and my brother who played college football is a Los Angeles firefighter now.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

Man or quarters, man because when I played corner I loved to press but when I played safety quarters is my favorite because routes are easier to recognize.

What should we know about Emmanuel Flowers the person?

Diligent, hungry, hard working, I don’t ever quit, I do better when people doubt me and I step up.

What stands out about your film the most?

My tackling ability and ability to tackle in open space and I’m really quick, didn’t give up any touchdowns at Samford, I’m a physical player and I can also play nickel, corner and safety.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

My faith has been the biggest factor, God has brought me through any situation. In high school I had a coach say I couldn’t do this and I just went to work and give God everything I got.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A leader by example, man of faith, handworker, someone who thrives in challenges and adversity and a smart, coachable, athletic player.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

First I love the team aspect with people who are like-minded and come together with the same goal, I love watching film and love matching up in one on one battles and game action.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Josiah Scott, he plays for the Eagles and he’s super sticky you can’t get away from him, he turns on a switch like no other and I feel he could be a pro bowler.
