Pittman’s Pocket: Jackson State Got Their Guy in TC Taylor
Jackson State wasted no time to find a replacement for Deion Sanders. Taylor attended Jackson State games as a young fan, played for JSU from 1998 to 2001 and returned to the Tigers in 2019 as a position coach.
Jackson State announced Tuesday that TC Taylor would be their 22nd Head coach at the prestigious HBCU program. This comes at the heel of Coach Prime departing for The University of Colorado job, along with 4 other assistant coaches.
Coach TC Taylor will have a tall task to handle after the Cricket Celebration bowl which starts this Saturday at noon against NC Central.
Taylor, who will be a first-time head coach, was the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator at North Carolina Central, where he helped guide the team to three consecutive Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championships (2014-16).
Worked as a Scout and volunteer for the East n West Shriners game in 2016-2017.
Also attended the Hula bowl and Tropical Bowl games. 2022
Also was a independent Agent and Scout at the CGS bowl game in 2021.
