Troy Aikman feels Sean Payton has to be the front runner for the Broncos head coaching job
The Denver Broncos fired Nathaniel Hackett who should have never been hired as the head coach in Denver, and now there are rumors swirling the next guy has to be Sean Payton.
Well, last night Troy Aikman threw some gas on the already lit rumor claiming that Sean Payton was the biggest winner of the Broncos firing.
According to Troy Aikman, Denver needs someone like Sean Payton.
“They’ve gotta get some credibility back,” Aikman said of the Broncos during the Week 16 “Monday Night Football” game between the Chargers and Colts. “They’ve gotta get some goodwill within a fanbase that’s been highly disappointed.”
Aikman continued talking about why the Broncos need an offensive minded coach.
“I just think the price went up exponentially for Sean Payton. He’s the guy in the driver’s seat. [The Broncos] can’t take a chance on anybody,” Aikman said. “Sean Payton is going to be a high commodity for a lot of teams that are in need of a head coach. So he becomes a hot commodity. He’s the winner when it’s all said and done.”
Remember Sean Payton won the Super Bowl with the Saints and turned Drew Brees into a future Hall of Famer. Can he turn around Russ Wilson? Russ Wilson is a very good quarterback and right now the fans are ready to throw away the key on him. I’m telling you if the Broncos can pull off Payton like Aikman is suggesting they will be in good hands and the team will turn around quickly.
