Will benching Zach Wilson light a fire in the Jets to win the AFC East?

Zach Wilson acted like an entitled kid after playing a horrible game last week against the New England Patriots. His comment after the game landed him on the bench.

This week the Jets benched their starting quarterback and it was the right move.

Well, now Zach Wilson is trying to win his job back. He apologized to this team yesterday and told them he will do everything to win the starting job back.

Head Coach Robert Saleh said this week that Wilson’s career with the Jets “is not over” and that the plan is to have him play again at some point this season. Saleh insisted the decision to bench Wilson had to do with fundamentals and needing a “reset” rather than losing the locker room.

Wilson has the Jets to a 5-2 record right now, but he only passed for 77 yards against the Patriots.

Wilson then made things worse for himself with a postgame quote that made it look like he was avoiding accountability for the offense’s struggles, which obviously pissed off his teammates.
