Player Summary:

Senior. Strong safety prospect. One of the most athletic-looking prospects I’ve evaluated this year and should test well at the combine. Looks very physically strong with a thick upper body and broad shoulders, long arms and lean muscle. Is around the ball, has great instincts with quick reaction time and has ability to read and react on the move. Has great closing speed and wastes no time getting downhill and is quick out of a backpedal. Flashes a great motor with great pursuit, almost like a linebacker, especially v. IDBO in pursuing the QB and chasing down ball carriers. Takes good angles, can come to balance, square up and move laterally in space. Can take on blockers and be very disruptive once he reaches the line of scrimmage. Has good coverage skills and stays close on receivers with no room for separation. Can get down and cover in the flat and around the perimeter, and shows great effort. Is an inconsistent tackler; needs to show he can consistently wrap up ball carriers. Is marginal as a last line of defense; gave up a touchdown late v. Hawaii. Has average ball skills; has opportunities to make interceptions but struggles to catch and come down with the ball. Athletic frame and raw athleticism are very positive traits that make him a good prospect.
