Future NFL Draft Locations: Host Cities For the 2023 NFL Draft and Beyond

Since 2015, the NFL has maintained its tradition of turning the draft into a road show that draws tens of thousands of spectators. With 32 clubs leaving the annual event in late April, full of optimism for the future, the NFL Draft is, for a fact, one of the most thrilling events on the professional league’s calendar each year.

It is worth noting that the NFL draft had an essentially permanent home in New York for almost 50 years. However, the league’s premier off-season event has been presented in six cities since 2015, including this year’s 2022 choice location of Las Vegas and the ones after, making it a global show. With decisive votes from the 32 club owners after individual towns make bids, future NFL Draft destinations are now chosen years in advance. This process is compared to how the Super Bowls venues are decided. Also, punters who wager on futures in NFL picks may have the option to bet on the city that will host the next draft now.

Based on the decision three years ago when club owners voted to choose Kansas City as the event’s host city, it is anticipated that the 2023 NFL Draft will take place from April 27 to 29. The specific location will be downtown Kansas City, near the National World War I Museum, the Memorial, and the Union Station. This article will highlight more information on the upcoming NFL Draft sites that have already been selected. So, read on.

2023 NFL Draft: Kansas City

On Thursday, April 27, and continuing through Saturday, April 29, the 2023 NFL Draft event will kick off officially. In 2023, Kansas City will serve as the NFL Draft’s host city. The historic Union Station, close to the city’s World War I Museum and Memorial, will house the event visitors.

Talk about the potential for a fantastic party. The NFL chose Kansas City and Chiefs Kingdom to host this esteemed event, and the entire community is overjoyed about the decision. The Midwest has a strong sense of hometown pride, so they can’t wait to demonstrate their unmatched love of sports, especially professional football.

2024 NFL Draft: Detroit

In a news conference held on Monday at the annual owners’ meetings, the league declared that the city of Detroit will stage the NFL Draft in 2024. According to earlier reports, Detroit, Green Bay, and Washington were the final three for the 2024 competition.

It is worth noting that the Lions submitted a bid to host the draft four years ago, but it was rejected; Nashville was chosen to host the 2019 draft. Due to COVID-19, Cleveland received it in 2021, a year later than planned, and Las Vegas grabbed the 2022 slot. The latter two were defeated as the city of Detroit won the slot for the most extensive selection event in the football calendar.

Campus Martius Park in the heart of Detroit is the most likely venue to host the three-day event, despite the NFL not announcing the precise dates for the 2024 NFL Draft to be held there. Although the Fox Theatre, which has a capacity of 5,700, was a suggestion made by team president Rod Wood as part of the previous proposal. However, this major event has attracted sizable crowds to outdoor stadiums in Philadelphia, Nashville, and Cleveland since that first pitch, so a change of heart was inevitable.

2025 NFL Draft

Although the league hasn’t made an official announcement, Charles Robinson, an NFL insider for Yahoo Sports, said in May 2022 that Wisconsin would “probably” win the right to host the 2025 NFL Draft event in 2024. We will know for sure soon.

The NFL Draft was held in New York City for many years, mainly at the Radio City Music Hall. But in recent years, the ceremony has been held in several cities, with the 2022 Draft occurring in Las Vegas. Other sites around the world are being considered too, and with time the biggest selection event in football will reach every city in America.
