This is Toshaye fighting for his life at the hospital after drowning in an Akron lake.

A Mother is asking for any help she can get, after losing her son while on a trip with his football team. I try to help as many people as I can on NFL Draft Diamonds, but this story really hit me hard. I want to try to help his family as much as I can.

Toshaye Pope was only 14 years old when he drowned while on an outing with the Ellet football team. His mother, Victoria Washington, created a GoFundMe fundraiser over the weekend to help support her family with expenses related to Pope’s tragedy.

His Mother is crying out for any help on the page. I could not imagine losing my son. She created the Go Fund Me account before Toshaye succumbed to his injuries. Here was her cry for help. It is so sad.

Hi my name is Victoria Washington I’m the parent of Toshaye he is 14 years old and currently on life support. (Before he did pass away) on July 21, 2022 a football coach took my son and 29 other students to a lake in Akron, Ohio which he didn’t supply no waiver or permission slip for them to go he then left the kids unattended and went home to grab a grill. My son can hardly swim and drowned when the coach got back my son was already getting CPR in which he coded 2 times. He is currently on a ventilator and fighting for his life the doctors are saying it’s not looking so good he has no activity in his eyes or he doesn’t respond to touch or pain. I’m asking for help for my baby to make this transition better for all of us I have 6 other kids and trying to get through this, anything helps thank you so much for your donations and support.

Unfortunately as I reported above, Toshaye passed away. He was just 14-years-old. If you can help please do. The Go Fund Me Page has raised 4,800 dollars so far, but funeral costs will definitely cost more than that. Please pray for the family and his siblings during this tough time. Rest in Peace Toshaye. We at NFL Draft Diamonds will do the best to get the word out there.
