This morning on Good Morning Football, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media Insiders reported that David Ojabo who was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens is still not signed and he is now holding out.

“From my understanding, the argument is about the third-year guarantee,” Rapoport said. “If you look at the distribution of where players are and how much is guaranteed in the third year, the Houston Texans fully guaranteed the third year of their second-round pick (wide receiver John Metchie III), which has caused everyone to go into flux a bit.”

We all knew that Ojabo would likely miss time after suffering an injury at his pro day, but this is an interesting move. The fully guaranteed third year happened for John Metchie III, who recently was diagnosed with leukemia. Him receiving a fully-guaranteed year is an unusual measure, but it is something that Ojabo’s camp would like.

“It’s basically an argument of, how close to 50 percent do the sides get as far as the third-year guarantee? It’s not much; it’s a small argument,” said Rapoport. “The two sides are trying to split the difference. They have just not yet come to an agreement.”

It is not like Ojabo can do anything, as he is still recovering from an Achilles injury, but the fact that they are holding out is interesting. At the end of the day, Ojabo would have been a first round pick if he did not get hurt, so the Ravens should bless the kid. Why not!
