Trevor Lawrence offers up some sound advice for Texas commit Arch Manning
There has not been a quarterback on the level of Trevor Lawrence coming out of high school. Lawrence was considered the best quarterback in high school, then went on to Clemson and would eventually become the first overall pick for the Jaguars.
Arch Manning has been considered the top quarterback for years in high school and will now take his talents to Texas. Manning has a ton of pressure to be great. He has to live up to the hype of his family like his uncles both Peyton and Eli and then his grandfather was quite the stud as well in Archie.
Well, Trevor Lawrence has some sound advice for the young gunslinger. In an interview with Chris Rosvoglou of The Spun, Lawrence said this:
“I’m sure he has a lot of good people in his corner that can help him, but I’d say it’s really important to learn how to manage expectations,” Lawrence said. “It’s important to block out all the noise. The only voices you should listen to are your internal expectations of yourself, your teammates, your coaches and family. You should try to block everything else out.”
Lawrence couldn’t pick the brains of three former NFL quarterbacks, but Arch does have a lot riding on his shoulders. It is hard to live up to the hype. I hope he can take Texas to the next level, but he will have a hard task at hand. Lawrence did it, but not many do….
