What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

My dad played in the NFL and it felt natural to play football when my mom signed me up for football.

What sets you apart from other defensive linemen?

It’s definitely my athleticism and my motor that has helped push me through and make plays.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I’m definitely more of a quiet guy that leads by example locked and loaded ready to go but if you need me I can bring the energy.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

JJ Watt, I tried to model my game after him in high school and even at Richmond I have a nickname called “the 4th Watt brother.”

How do you prepare for games?

I’m usually at my locker locked in listening to my music visualizing what I am going to do on the football field.

What should we know about Aidan Murray the person?

I’d say reliable. I’m going to be there in any situation when or where you need me.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

I gotta say in high school our last game of the season a sack on 4th down to seal the game and the sack at the end of the William and Mary game this past season.

What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

Brotherhood and trusting your teammates, as you trust your teammates more you have no doubts on the football field.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I’m a very analytical person so off the field I tend to analyze the situation. In game you don’t have as much time so I make a decision and stick with it and if you make the wrong decision just put your head down and move forward, next play mentality.

What would a team get in a player like you?

I’d say they’re getting a hardworking player, someone who is willing to put in the time and someone who just loves football.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

I’m excited to step into a leadership role and just excited to play with my brothers again.

If there was a billboard with 5 of your traits on it which 5 traits would be up there?

Hardworking, reliable, athletic, leader, and trustworthy.
