NFL Draft Diamonds Free Agent Interview: Josh Gontarek, Wide Receiver

Josh Gontarek Is a pretty solid wide receiver that is currently a free agent looking for an opportunity at the pro level.

Hello I am @jrberendzen on Twitter and this is one of my free agent interviews where I ask very deserving free agents questions about the players themselves and about what a team would get in these players. All of these players should get picked up by NFL, CFL, USFL and XFL teams and get a shot at being a career football player. So I hope you all read this interview with Free Agent wide receiver Josh Gontarek and follow him on his journey.

What sets you apart from other wide receivers?

I feel my years of experience have given me more wisdom. I’ve had the pleasure of working with many different coaches and players. With these new learnings I have been able to combine all of the knowledge they’ve given me to add to my arsenal of skills.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

When it’s game time, I take pride in bringing confidence to my coaches and teammates. I like letting my game speak for itself.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I’m looking to maximize my skill set at the highest level and finish my career with no regrets.

What is your typical training routine?

While working around a daily work schedule, I like to strength train in the morning. In the evenings I like to work on speed and agility with speed coaches at Trueap.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

If I could hangout with any football player it would be Santana Moss. Him and I are similar in size and play types. Also, the way he held down the #1 receiver spot for so many years in Washington is admirable.

If there was a billboard with 5 of your traits on it which 5 traits would be up there?

Passionate, resilient, hard working, determined and smart.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Although friday night lights are hard to match, my favorite football moment would have to be my first ever collegiate game my true freshman year at Albany because that was where I earned my confidence and respect as a college football player.

What is your favorite route and why?

My favorite route is a curl and post-curl because there are so many different variations so you can keep the defender guessing.

What would a team get in a player like you?

I have a extensive history with the game of football. My passion for the game is what keeps me driven, but my talent and resilience is why I know I deserve a chance. Every team I’ve been apart of I’m able to exceed expectations as a player. I’m always looking for ways to grow and improve my game. I’m very confident that I will continue to exceed any expectations wherever I am given the opportunity.

What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

There are many things that contribute to success in football, but one of the most important I’d say is having a short term memory. Things don’t go according to plan sometimes in football and being able to forget about the bad plays will help you move on to make the next play better.

What should we know about Josh Gontarek the person?

I’m the type of guy that wears my emotions on my sleeves. I am also very prideful in everything that I do, so you can expect extra compassion from me.
