Michigan High School football player committed suicide after being extorted on social media
What is sextortion? A star football player in Michigan took photos of himself and someone prayed on Jordan DeMay a 17 year old football player.
Jordan was being extorted through Instagram over pictures that he had taken of himself. Jordan was pressured by the perpetrator to pay money in exchange for the pictures not being sent to his family and Instagram followers. It’s called sextortion.
Officials say Jordan sent the perpetrator money, but it wasn’t enough.
Hours after Jordan’s death, investigators tell WLUC, a friend of Jordan’s received one of the compromising photos.
Unfortunately, Jordan committed suicide just hours before his photos were released.
