Tell us about your hometown, and what you love most about it?

• I am from Lake Worth, Florida. What I love the most about it, is the hustle of the people that lives there. I wouldn’t say it’s the best place to go on tour and vacation. But the people work hard to make a living. And I respect that.

List these three in order of importance and why: Film Study, Strength and Conditioning and Practice?

• Film study, practice, strength, and conditioning. In the game of football, your film study is the greatest weapon. Especially at my position, cornerback. You can be the biggest, strongest, and fastest but that won’t help you much if you don’t know what route concepts are coming, or what that team is trying to do. The practice is where you get to rep your game plan to almost perfection. You can mess up there so on game day, you will be prepared mentally and watch the rest take care of itself.

What do you worry about, and why?

• I worry about taking care of my family. My mother is my rock. She’s sacrificed so much for me and it’s only fair I am able to return the favor and help her out. My son as well.

Give me an example of when you failed at something. How did you react and how did you overcome failure?

• In my senior year of high school, I took the ACT and I did not get a good score on it. I was really bummed out about it. So I made sure that I would do better on it overall the next time I took it. I made sure I studied the materials I needed to and went to the tutoring sessions. I ended up with a better overall score the second time I took it.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?

• I think my teammates would say my best quality is my personality. I try to be an open book. I try to be easy to talk to. And offer any kind of advice when asked. I also tend to be honest with them at all times in conversations about anything.

Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?

• In all honesty, I cannot name a player from a different school. It would have to be my old teammates from Northwest Missouri State University during practice. There’s Shawn Bane Jr. and Quincy Woods, to name a couple, but I’d have to say, Mike Mike Williams. That guy was an animal in everything he did. He enjoyed talking smack and it sucked because he was able to back it all at any given moment.

What would your career be if you couldn’t play football?

• I don’t even know what my career would be without football. I kind of took a chance with it, envisioning what seemed like the impossible and ran with it. I’d probably be working at Walmart or something.

Room, desk and car – which do you clean first?

• I’d clean my room first. Your room represents what kind of person you are because that’s where most of your personal belongings are, and where you have your personal moments.

If there was a disaster and you could either save three strangers or one family member, which would you choose and why?

• Honestly, it doesn’t matter. Whether it’s the three strangers or the one family member, I’d do my best to save all of them. But I understand sometimes life isn’t that fair. If it’s the three strangers, they could possibly become family after everything is done. I wouldn’t try to think of titles. Just doing my best to save lives.

If you could be any television or movie character, who would you be and why?

• I would be Naruto Uzumaki. If you’re unfamiliar with the character you should watch the anime. The guy is bad ass. Throughout the show, he is disliked and counted out from his family, friends, classmates, teachers. No one believed that he would amount to anything great. But he overcame every obstacle and ultimately reached his goal. Watching his struggle was very relatable to my life and I’m looking for the same ending.

Tell me about your biggest adversity in life and how you’ve dealt with or overcome it?

• My biggest adversity in life would be, not believing in myself. I’m still dealing with it. But I feel like I’m overcoming it day by day. I’ve met some great people in my teammates who remind me how great of a player I can be, and how I just need to relax and enjoy the game of football one rep at a time. So I try to remind myself of that every day and enjoy the process.

What is your most embarrassing moment?

• My most embarrassing moment happened in my senior year in high school. I had a girlfriend whom I never kissed yet, and when we did, I came in to fast and we bumped heads pretty hard.

What was the most memorable play of your collegiate career?

• My most memorable play of my collegiate career would have to be my pass break up in the 2016 national championship game.

What song best describes your work ethic?

• The song that best describes my work ethic would have to be Moolah by Young Greatness

What is the most important trait you can have (Physical or Non-Physical) to help you succeed at the next level?

• The most important trait I think you can have in order to succeed at the next is to be coachable. My HS coaches use to preach that to us all of the time. And I heard the same thing from my coaches in college.

If you could bring one person back from the dead for one day, who would it be and why?

• I’d bring back my father. Just to talk to him and see what he was like as a person. He passed away when I was three months.

If you were to open a dance club, what would you name it?

• My dance club would be called “The Get Down”.

Who is the most underrated player in the NFL?

• Stephon Gilmore probably is the most underrated player in the NFL.

Would you rather be liked or respected, and why?

• I would rather be respected. Being liked doesn’t get you far in life. They probably like you because you’re benefiting them in some sort of way. When you stop doing that, I promise you they won’t “like” you anymore. When you’re respected, no matter what you do(in most cases), people will still feel the same way about you, because they know what you’re about.

What player who had his career derailed by off-field issues do you feel for the most and why?

• Sean Taylor. His life was taken from him. And not just him, but any player who lost their lives to violence.

Do you love to win, or hate to lose?

• I hate to lose. During my college career, we’ve won plenty of games. Went undefeated two seasons in a row. But whenever we lost, it would hurt so much. It felt like the world was ending.

Who has been the biggest influence on your life and explain why?

• My mother has been the biggest influence in my life. She came from Haiti at a young age and made something of herself. She took care of not only herself but all of her siblings as well. To provide for my sister and me, she worked two jobs as a CNA for 25+ years. Doesn’t do the body well at all. But she never complained. When the going got tough, she stayed ten toes down. And I don’t think I can ever repay her for that. She’s a hard worker before anything else.
