Feds are now trying to charge Virginia Tech player with hate crime after finding out a Tinder date was a man and not a woman

A former Virginia Tech football player is now being investigated by the FBI to see if he will be charged with a hate crime as well as murder.

The former Virginia Tech football player who met a woman on Tinder named Angie and went to her house for an entanglement, to find out that Angie was really a man. A 40-year-old man named Jerry Smith was really Angie.

According to search warrants, the FBI is now investigating to see if Etute will be charged with a hate crime as well as second-degree murder.

According to reports from WSLS, the warrants, which were unsealed Tuesday, were filed on June 28, 2021. They’re related to the May 31, 2021 death of a 40-year-old Blacksburg man,

The cause of death was determined to be blunt force injuries to the head. The Attorney for the football player says the two first met April 10 for oral sex, and Etute didn’t realize Smith was a man until they met again May 31.

Etute has never been in trouble, and even takes care of his special needs sister. He graduated early and has a great supporting cast a home that is why he was granted bail back in June of 2021. Etute does admit to punching the man five times and stomping his face into the ground. The autopsy shows that every bone in Smith’s face were broken and he had missing broken teeth.

We will see what the State of Virginia does, but right now the Feds are trying to put the young man in prison for a long time. Do you agree?
