Browns are now expected to talk to Deshaun Watson? | Does this mean the Browns are done with Baker?
Baker Mayfield will likely be pissed when he wakes up this morning. News broke early this morning that the Cleveland Browns are expected to meet with Deshaun Watson.
The Browns have shown interest and up until this point, it had just been interest, but that took a step forward today. Watson is expected to meet with the Browns Brass today.
Today, Watson is supposed to have questioning from powerhouse attorney Tony Buzbee as well. So he will be busy. Watson however will still meet with the Browns today. What does this mean for Baker Mayfield?
Mayfield should be pissed, and if I am Baker I make it worse for the Browns. I tell the Browns I want to be traded. I mean last year he played with a torn labrum the entire year, and took heat from everyone. He is up for a new contract, and maybe the Texans would treat him better. If the Browns did in fact deal for Watson, they would have to do something with Baker.
The Browns recently traded for Amari Cooper. I think Cleveland would become a pretty nice destination if the team did in fact land Watson. The problem is how much will it cost to land Watson? Mayfield is considered a franchise quarterback and the former first overall pick. So if the Texans want to swap quarterbacks, I am not too sure what else they could land.
The Browns have a decision to make and to be honest, Baker has a decision to make. I wonder how Baker will handle the news?
