I am @jrberendzen on Twitter and this is one of my free agent interviews where I ask very deserving free agents questions about the players themselves and about what a team would get in these players. All of these players should get picked up by NFL, CFL, and XFL teams and get a shot at being a career football player. What sets you apart from other running backs?

  • Great balance and vision and know where to run. 

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

  • When I ran for 60 yards and it took half of the team to take me down. 

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

  • I’m looking forward to beat records and be remembered as one of the greatest that ever played this game. 

If there was a billboard with 5 of your traits on it which 5 traits would be up there?

  • Determined, ambitious, confident agreeableness and openness.  

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

  • Its like I turn into a different person on the field my teammates feed off the fire energy that I bring.  

What made you decide you wanted to be a football player? 

  • I started playing football in 7th grade and I really didn’t know if I would be good at it but my first game was great and friends would tell me that I’m really good at football so I took it serious.  

What should we know about Darrius Banks the person?

  • I’m a very humble guy.  

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

  • I just take things one day at a time on and off the field.  

What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

  • Showing up to practice on time learning the plays, following the team rules and most importantly discipline.  

What would a team get in a player like you?

  • Very disciplined great leader and when its time to work I’m locked in.  

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

  • Barry Sanders because I would love to learn more about the game from a legend especially playing the running back position.  

What is your favorite run play and why?

  • Off tackle runs because its gets the running back on edge of the defense in the quickest way.
