Star High School Football Player Amarion Collins was shot and killed outside his high school

Amarion Collins was shot and killed Wednesday in the 1000 block of Cherokee Road in Portsmouth, Virginia.

According to police reports, three people have been charged for the murder of the standout wide receiver. Melvon Parker, 19, Kwendale Glenn, 18, and a juvenile male are all being charged for first-degree murder, use of a firearm, conspiracy to commit murder, and carrying a firearm on school property.

Collins was a star-wide receiver for the Mustangs football team. He led the team to their first winning season since 2004. He finished the season with 21 receptions, 512 yards, and 6 touchdowns. He also added 4 interceptions playing the defensive back role.

Collins finished the season with 21 receptions and 512 yards, with six touchdowns. He also had four interceptions.

He earned second-team All-Class 4 Region A honors at wide receiver and was named second-team All-Eastern District at both wide receiver and defensive back.
