Marquette King is hoping for another shot in the NFL now that Jon Gruden has been fired
The first move Jon Gruden made when getting the Raiders head coaching job was firing Marquette King. King was coming off a huge season in 2016 as an All-Pro. He was one of the best punters in the NFL, and the Raiders just let him go.
Marquette talks about his release here in this video. But with the recent news things are starting to make more sense.
There was news that he was not cut for his playing ability, but rather his personality.
King is now speaking out after the emails from Gruden have come out and stated that he said some racially motivated remarks and that he went out of his way to try to blackball Eric Reid. So King is now talking about getting another chance now that Chucky is out the picture.
“Once I found out, it was kinda like, now I really wonder what was the real reason why I did get let go,” King said. “I’m still kinda curious about that, about why I got let go. It’s just been a whole roller coaster full of emotions, period.”
