Top 5 Week 7 FCS matchups to watch | Five amazing games to watch this weekend

1.University of South Dakota at University of Northern Iowa 

Top 25 ranked matchup that I believe ends up being the closest and most competitive. South Dakota is led by their senior linebacker captain Jack Cochrane defensively who has 51 tackles and 6.5 TFLs, 3 QB Hits, and 3 PBUs. Northern Iowa has offensively one of the best wide receivers in Isaiah Weston a redshirt junior who has 415 yards and 4 touchdowns. I think that this game will have plenty of defense but I think Isaiah Weston might get into the endzone once.

2.Sacramento State at University of Montana 

A defensive match-up. Griz redshirt junior safety Robby Hauck leads the way defensively for Montana with 46 tackles and 2 TFLs, also have sack master redshirt junior linebacker Patrick O’Connell who has 43 tackles,10.5 TFLs, and 6.5 sacks. As for Sacramento State, you have to watch out for junior defensive back Marte Mapu who has 24 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 6 PBUs. Offensively for the Griz, you will have to watch out for freshman running back Xavier Harris who has 383 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. And for the Hornets, you need to keep an eye on Pierre Williams junior wide receiver who has 476 recieving yards and 2 touchdowns.

3.Virginia Military Institute at Mercer University 

If you are looking for an offensive this just might be your game. We have 2 top 10 running backs in rushing yards in this game with Korey Bridy senior from VMI who has 614 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns in the 2021 season and on the other side Mercer has redshirt freshman Fred Davis who has 560 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns. VMI also has senior receiver Jakob Herres who has 367 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns on the season. We are not sure if Herres will play as he was banged up in last week’s win.

4.Florida A&M University at Alabama A&M University 

On Alabama A&M’s offense, it all starts with grad QB Aqeel Glass who has thrown for 1,804 yards and 16 touchdowns on the season. Odieu Hilaire junior Alabama A&M receiver has 495 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns and Alabama A&M also has another junior receiver Abdul-Fatai Ibrahim has 483 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. For the Florida A&M Rattlers, they have a really good defense and it all starts with redshirt junior linebacker Isaiah Land who has 22 tackles,11 TFLs, 10 sacks, and 4 QB Hits, and they also have a good defensive back in redshirt junior BJ Bohler who has 15 tackles, 2 interceptions and 6 PBUs.

5.Montana State University at Weber State University 

I expect an interesting game here between 2 ranked teams. Montana State defense is led by Daniel Hardy senior defensive end who has 25 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks. Weber State defensively has Conner Mortensen senior linebacker who has 20 tackles, 4.5 TFLs, and 2 sacks. On the offensive side for the Bobcats you are looking at junior running back Isaiah Ifanse who has 661 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns, also watch out for Bobcats senior receiver Lance McCutcheon who has 578 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. For Weber State offensively you have to watch out for senior Rashid Shaheed(also watch out for him on special teams) who has 228 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.
