Former standout high school football player Isaiah Ortega-Dage was killed in a hit and run accident

Isaiah Ortega-Dage was also the De Anza League’s offensive player of the year for the 2014 season.

Isaiah Ortega-Dage was a former football player for Shadows Hills High School was killed after being hit by a truck this morning.

The 23 year old was pronounced dead at 12:16 a.m. just 14 minutes after being struck by the vehicle. 

The report from the Desert Sun says, according to Sgt. Al Saig of the California Highway Patrol Indio office said a female driver and Ortega-Dage were driving northbound on Palm Drive, north of Varner Road. The driver stopped their vehicle partially in the right lane and right shoulder, and Ortega-Dage walked around to the driver’s side. As he was standing in the right lane, a pickup truck traveling northbound in the right lane struck him.

Isaiah Ortega-Dage was also the De Anza League’s offensive player of the year for the 2014 season. Ortega-Dage was a track star as well. This is so sad. We at Draft Diamonds are praying for the Ortega-Dage family. Rest in Peace Isaiah.
