Every year millions of people play fantasy football for a chance to win their league, but can you imagine turning the fantasy into reality?

My scouting mentor taught me about the concept of “six degrees of separation,” which means we are all only six people away from anybody in the world.
For example maybe you know somebody who knows somebody who knows an NFL owner?
I will never forget when my old boss at a financial company in Tempe, Arizona came up to my cubicle one day and said, “Dan, it sure would be great to see you get back into the NFL, who do you know who can help you?” I replied, “Do you know anyone Ron?” He thought about it for a moment and said, “Well…I do know the owner of our company and he knows Paul Allen really well!”
I said, “You mean Paul Allen the owner of the Seattle Seahawks… you mean Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft?!!”
Ron replied, “Yeah, that Paul Allen!”
I could not believe it! I absolutely could not believe it! Here I am working at a sales job at a financial company in Tempe, Arizona and my sales manager ‘just so happens’ to know someone who knew Paul Allen, the owner of the Seattle Seahawks?”
You have got to be kidding me?!!
I was only two people away from Paul Allen!
It turns out Allen was an investor in the company I worked for. What were the odds?
Within a week, I submitted an email to Allen’s attention, describing in passionate detail my burning desire to get back into the NFL, but unfortunately Allen died shortly thereafter. However, it was still amazing to me.
Who do you know?
Who do you know that knows somebody who might know somebody who knows an NFL owner?
If you do, if an NFL owner is within your scope of influence, and within your “six degrees of separation,” you could very well go from wherever you are in life right now to becoming an assistant GM in the National Football League.
