Fantasy Football: Week 11 Sunday Sleeper Squad

Taysom Hill Saints Fantasy Football
If you are playing fantasy football in week 11 and need to find a sleeper pick, Taysom Hill of the Saints is your guy.

By Craig Forrestal

The Sunday Sleeper Squad is a team made up of players that might be hanging around on waivers or offer a contrarian approach and can offer you a helping hand this week if you’re a team in need. Or maybe you have rostered one of these guys and now is the time to unleash them. And at this point in the season, you are probably in need of some kind of fantasy help. These factors could be matchup, injuries, both, or something totally off the wall leading us to our conclusion as to why these players could pay off. Of course, these are the ultimate boom-or-bust plays so may the odds be in your favor if you’re playing someone on this list. Let’s take a look at who made my Week 11 Sunday Sleeper Squad.

QB/ Taysom Hill/ New Orleans Saints: Taysom Hill is either going to throw the ball 35-40 times or he will have 12-15 passing attempts and 12-15 carries there is no in-between. However, if there was ever a week to unleash the do-it-all athletic marvel this would be the week. The Falcons have a terrible defense and are giving up the most points to fantasy QBs.  This offense will score whether it’s Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill but this week will be a bunch of fun as we see what a Taysom Hill offense looks like. Sean Payton loves Taysom Hill and will try to get him 3 TDs tomorrow 1 passing, 1 rushing and 1 receiving. Okay, maybe that is a bit extreme but Hill is in line for a big-time performance.

WR/ Willie Snead/ Baltimore Ravens: Snead has at least 4 catches in the last 3 Baltimore games. Lamar Jackson is desperate to find a reliable target in the passing game and Snead offers the reliable target he desires. Hollywood Brown is a field stretcher, Mark Andrews is a phenomenal TE that offers a ton in the passing game but Willie Snead has those qualities. He’s tough over the middle, soft hands, knows how to sit in a spot against the zone and most importantly he has that underdog fire still burning inside of him as he wants to prove his spot in the league. The Tennessee Titans have allowed the 4th most points to fantasy WR this season. Snead is set up for a monster day.

WR/ Jakeem Grant/ Miami Dolphins: When Preston Williams went down many were wondering who was going to step up and replace Williams. Well, Jakeem Grant was ready for his shot. He’s had 4+ catches in 3 of his last 4 games, and the game he didn’t register 4 catches he scored a TD. Last week his 5 targets were 2 less than Parker and Grant added another TD. Grant has upside with a fair amount of looks in the passing game and a decent matchup against the Denver Broncos, who allow an average of 24.5 fantasy points to WRs.

WR/ Michael Pittman/ Indianapolis Colts: Pittman had 7 catches for 101 yards last week and he should continue to see volume as the argument could be made that he turned in the best WR performance from the Colts all year. Philip Rivers likes big bodied WRs and that is exactly what Pittman is. He has 15 Targets since Week 9. While the Packers aren’t a green light matchup they aren’t one to shy away from as Pittman is the hot hand in this passing attack.

RB/ Damien Harris/ New England Patriots: Harris has averaged 17 carries a game for 98 rushing yards over the last 3 games. He beat a tough matchup in the Baltimore Ravens defense and get a high upside matchup against Houston. While Rex Burkhead has been scoring TDs and Sony Michel comes off IR don’t leave Harris on the bench. This backfield belongs to Harris. The Texans defense just let Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt both go over 100 yards last week.

RB/ Salvon Ahmed/ Miami Dolphins: Salvon Ahmed just magically appeared last week as the Miami Dolphins featured RB. In Week 10, he had 21 carries for 85 yards with 1 TD. He added an additional 5 yards on 1 catch in the passing game but he did run the most routes out of all RBs on the roster last week. While Matt Breida returns he is coming off a hamstring injury and is viewed as a change of pace RB and not much else. Denver is seen as a nightmare matchup but they have loosened up against RBs after losing 2 starting defensive linemen. Ahmed has stepped as the opportunity has presented itself playing 46% of snaps in Week 9 and 76% of snaps in Week 10. And finally, the game script should be in his favor which means Miami should favor the run and not the pass against Denver.

TE/ Logan Thomas/ Washington Football Team: The Virginia Tech QB turned NFL TE once again finds himself on the list. This week he gets a Bengals defense that struggles against TEs. The Bengals allow the 2nd most fantasy PPG to TEs at 16.27 this season. They also give up almost 65 yards per game to TEs which is 2nd most. He has seen 6 targets in each game Alex Smith has been at QB.

FLEX/ Kalen Ballage/ LA Chargers: Revenge Game 2.0 for Ballage as he gets to square off against the Jets this week. I said it in my Waiver Wire Report and I’ll say it again he’s the most unlikely of workhorse RBs in 2020. The Chargers offense is smoking with Justin Herbert and I expect that to continue against the lifeless Jets. Over the two games he’s been locked in as a workhorse he has rushed for 137 yards, averaging 4.15 yards per carry. It’s not setting the world on fire but there are way worse options out there. Coach Anthony Lynn was quoted as saying: “I’m gonna give him more looks … with KB, right now I would say he’s the primary guy.”

FLEX/ Giovani Bernard/ Cincinnati Bengals: Sunday is Gio’s birthday and we saw Nyheim Hines suplex the Tennessee Titans on his birthday for 2 TDs. Does he catch some birthday love and luck against the Washington Football Team? I think he does. Gio hasn’t been a clear-cut RB1 in fantasy circles but he’s been pretty serviceable and the trend should continue as Joe Mixon has been placed on IR. Gio should see his customary 15-18 touches and be an added bonus in the passing game. D’Andre Swift torched the Washington Football Team last week for 149 combo yards and 1 TD.
