3 Weekly Sleepers

  1. Troymaine Pope/ RB/ LA Chargers: Allow me to be one of the first to introduce you to Troymaine Pope. Pope played his college ball at FCS-level Jacksonville State. He has been in the league for a minute and looked good last week once the team committed to him. Pope carried the ball 10 times for 67 yards and also recorded 5 receptions on 7 targets for 28 yards. In my opinion, Pope has taken over the role previously held by Joshua Kelley. This week against a soft Raiders defense Pope could be a sneaky option for your fantasy team.
  2. JaMycal Hasty/ RB/ San Francisco 49ers: JaMycal Hasty and Jerick McKinnon. That’s what the 49ers are rolling with. McKinnon has “tired legs” so expect Hasty to get solid work against Green Bay, who just got knocked out by Dalvin Cook. Hasty got a lot of work against Seattle and that will be the case against Green Bay. This matchup against Green Bay is just too good to pass up.
  3. Antonio Brown/ WR/ Tampa Bay Buccaneers: He’s back. And if you don’t think Antonio Brown will play extensively against the Saints I think you’re wrong. AB is rumored to be living with Tom Brady and you don’t keep an eye on someone like that unless you have big plans for them. Brady seemed to enjoy playing with AB in New England and given how he hasn’t established a true connection with Chris Godwin or Mike Evans AB walks into a lot of target opportunities potentially. AB will be used very well as he has played with Byron Leftwich and Bruce Arians in Pittsburgh so they all know each other.

3 Weekly Fades

  1. DJ Chark/ WR/ Jacksonville Jaguars: Well, it’s the second year in a row that the Jaguars have decided it must be QB play and not coaching by deciding to bench the Mississippi Mustache, Gardner Minshew. Now with unproven rookie Jake Luton taking over, it is best to sit Chark given the uncertainty of how Luton will perform in his first NFL start. The Jaguars passing game is trending downward fast for fantasy purposes.
  2. Jonathan Taylor/ RB/ Indianapolis Colts: Coach Frank Reich said that Taylor is dealing with an ankle injury and after a very underwhelming performance and 2 stellar showings from other Colts RBs Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins it wouldn’t be crazy to see Taylor have his workload scaled back against Baltimore this week. Also, the Ravens held the Steelers run game very much in check last week.
  3. CeeDee Lamb/ WR/ Dallas Cowboys: Lamb has been marvelous early on this season splashing as a high-impact rookie but the QB situation plus a tough matchup makes me feel like other options would be better. Also, the slot is not a spot where the Steelers are vulnerable. Expect a down day for CeeDee Lamb.
