West Chester University standout defensive back pleads guilty to dealing cocaine

Nate Barnes played well for the West Chester football team, but he could not leave the streets behind. His pursuit of playing in the NFL will now have to wait, and hopefully he can change his life around.

Nate Barnes a defensive back for West Chester University had quite the season and was really on our list as a potential NFL prospect. The 6020 defensive back made play after play for West Chester and now the 20 year old will have to put his dreams of the NFL on the back burner.

Barnes was arrested on January 30th, 2019 on three separate occasions in 2018 for selling small amounts of cocaine to and informant. On the third and final arrest, the police executed a search on his apartment and found 25 grams of cocaine, drug packaging materials and digital scales.

Even though Barnes is a first time offender, he did in fact plead guilty to the felony crimes. The West Chester football team and PSAC Champions removed him from their roster after the arrest.

Eleven of the 13 charges are being dropped for his plea but the two that remain are the felony drug delivery charges.
