Texans have a healthy quarterback battle in Houston
This year the Houston Texans drafted a quarterback in the first round of the draft, with only Tom Savage on their roster to compete with him. Deshaun Watson the former Clemson gunslinger was taken by the Texans and guess who was the first person to contact him? Yep, his competition. Tom Savage hit up Watson to congratulate him on being selected.

While it is a feel good story, Savage is not going to just let Watson take the job from him. He is going in to battle Watson.

Savage filled in for just three games late last season when he completed 63 percent of his passes. Savage unfortunately suffered a concussion, which forced the Texans to put Browns new quarterback Brock Osweiler back into the starting lineup.
The Texans are saying publicly that Savage is the team’s starter and that they’re comfortable with it, but let’s be frank this is a healthy competition.
