VMI leading receiver is transferring to James Madison University

Kris Thornton a big time wide receiver is trading VMI for JMU. This is a very good move for the junior wide out but he will have to sit a year.

Have you ever heard the term the rich are getting richer?

Well, James Madison just landed VMI’s top receiver in Kris Thornton. VMI’s junior wideout Thornton announced on his Twitter that he is transferring to JMU.

Thornton caught a school-record 87 passes as a sophomore last fall, earning All-Southern Conference second-team honors. He finished over 1000 receiving yards last year, becoming just the third player in VMI history to reach at least 1,000 receiving yards in a season. He had four touchdown catches.

Thornton will be a huge addition to the powerhouse JMU. The only thing is Thornton will have to sit a year out before playing for the Dukes.
