Did you play any other positions in football?
I played Quarterback, Slot, and running back
At your position, what separates you from others?
What separates me from other cornerback is that, I already know the route or play before the ball is even snapped. I study more film and dissect little aspects that gives me a clue of what’s already about to happen. I can honestly say no one watches more than film than me
When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?
When I look at film I look at literally everything. What hash the ball is on, the quarterback’s steps, how a wide receiver comes off the ball between pass and run. I look for all passing concepts to see what’s different and what’s the same. I look to see who the quarterback likes to go to the most & all the different packages the offense plays
Who was the toughest player you ever faced?
The toughest player I ever faced was Holton Walker as a freshman
If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?
I would compare myself to Brent Grimes. Both of us being small players but the size doesn’t matter when the pads come on. He goes up and grabs the ball like me and knows what to do with it when he gets it
What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?
The toughest obstacle I ever faced was when I found out my mom was battling cancer. I was crushed and I wanted to give up in life. I thought I was losing my best friend. But I didn’t give up. I used that as fuel to the fire and it motivated me to be the man I am today
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
Every game I listen to gospel music all day to calm my body down
My biggest strength is my speed and knowledge of the game
What is your biggest weakness?
My biggest weakness is my size
If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?
I would tell you that your getting somebody who wants to win and is willing to do whatever or play where ever you want me to. I would also tell you that your getting something rare, and you’ll never see a player with a bigger heart than Josh White
