Arizona Cardinals are still an option for Dwight Freeney

Cardinals are signing LB Dwight Freeney to a one year deal
Dwight Freeney wants to play, and the Cardinals are still an option

The Arizona Cardinals are not willing to give up on Dwight Freeney just yet.  The Cardinals have adopted a wait-and-see approach with the veteran pass rusher.

While Freeney has racked up 119.5 sacks in 14 seasons, including eight in 11 games last year with the Cardinals, the Cardinals would not mind having him back.  The problem is the price tag.

Freeney even stated that he is willing to participate in OTA’s which most veterans try to avoid.  The 36 year old wants to play, and I think someone will give him a shot.

Freeney would like to return to the Cardinals as well so the feeling is mutual.
