According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, Ryan Fitzpatrick is expected to hit the open market. Rapoport was told the sides are still far apart on a potential deal.
It is very surprising considering the way that Fitzpatrick played last season for the Jets. The Jets missed the playoffs, but Fitzpatrick played at a very high level.
“Everybody in the organization feels very strongly about this,” Maccagnan said in January, after coach Todd Bowles confirmed: “We want him back.”
Sam Bradford’s contract may have messed things up for the Jets.
