David Molk is only 27 years old and now he is hanging up his cleats. The former Eagles center is calling it a career.

His retirement comes after he was lost for most of the 2015 season when he tore his right bicep in the season opener against Atlanta. He suffered the injury on special teams, on a field-goal block unit.

Molk previously played college football for University of Michigan, where he was a consensus All-American and won the 2011 Rimington Trophy as the best center in college football. He also played center briefly for the San Diego Chargers. He was a seventh round draft pick by the Chargers in 2012.
