NFL draft prospect Mackensie Alexander only allowed 19 receptions on 57 targets
Pro Football Focus is one of my favorite websites, and the reason we love them so much is the fact that they really break down the film to an extreme level. They released an article talking about ten stats that NFL scouts would really be impressed with. This was one from the article that really blew me away.
Mackensie Alexander (CB, Clemson) allowed only 19 receptions on 57 targets.
Even though Alexander didn’t put up the traditional stats that scouts were expecting, he had a very good year. Opposing receivers had only 19 receptions for 258 yards and zero touchdowns. Opposing quarterbacks had a passer rating of 48.7 when targeting Alexander. At the combine, Alexander needs to hold steady by posting numbers expected by scouts. Most of Alexander’s strengths are in-game intangibles and instincts that don’t necessarily show up in combine workouts.
Alexander is the son of Marie and Jean Alexander. He has a twin brother, Mackenro Alexander. He is one of the top cornerback prospects in the 2016 NFL Draft.
