49ers are hoping they can get Anthony Davis out of retirement

49ers offensive tackle Anthony Davis shocked everyone yesterday by retiring
GM of the 49ers, are hoping they can get offensive tackle Anthony Davis back

Anthony Davis retired last year after Jim Harbaugh left.  Davis was not the only player to retire, both linebacker Patrick Willis and linebacker Chris Borland retired as well.  On Friday, General manager Trent Baalke addressed Anthony Davis’ status on 95.7 The Game.

“As of right now, I’ve got no notification from the league to say that he has [filed for reinstatement],” Baalke said. “But that period is still open.”

When asked if he could return, Baalke confirmed the possibility, saying, “Yes.”

Getting Anthony Davis back would be huge for Colin Kaepernick and Chip Kelly’s offense.
